Uganda has developed into the leading country for Organic coffee
production in Africa with about 21,000 certified smallholders.
Regionally, there are approximately 26,000 small holders certified
including neigbouring countries. The location of Uganda is close
to other major coffee producing countries such as Kenya, Ethiopia,
Rwanda and Tanzania, which comprise the center of origin for coffee,
making it the ideal location for hosting the 3rd IFOAM Organic Coffee
